International Transition

Transition: passing or change from one place, state, or condition to another - (Oxford Dictionary)

Transition, for you as an international student, refers to your experience of coming to study in an unfamiliar environment where often the language, culture and education styles are very different from your own. The Transition Program in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education is designed to help you deal with these issues.  An important initiative this year has been the employment of a School-based tutor to assist students from non-English speaking backgrounds to adjust to our academic expectations and to improve their English language skills. Also the School, in conjunction with the Language and Learning Skills Unit, is running a series of study skills workshops specifically designed for Education students.
