Expression of Interest
in research Masters (with a thesis component), Doctor of Education and PhD Programs
Before submitting an application for a degree with a research component all potential students are first required to prepare an Expression of Interest form (EOI).
The EOI is required to help establish whether a potential student is eligible to apply for a degree with a thesis component within the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.
An exception for this process is the Master of Educational Psychology.
For information on this program, go to p.23 of the course brochure.
Please Note:
- The EOI is not intended to be a final or worked up version of the research you may eventually do.
- Submitting the EOI does not guarantee a place in our degrees.
- Following the completion of an EOI, applications for the PhD, DEd and research Masters are to be submitted. The application form can be downloaded from the Future Students website.
Timely admission dates:
- EOIs and applications for the DEd and MEd courses submitted prior to December have the highest likelihood of being processed in time for a Semester 1 commencement in the following year;
- EOIs and applications for the DEd and MEd applications submitted prior to May have the highest likelihood of being processed in time for a Semester 2 commencement.
Hints and tips for submitting your Expression of Interest
- To find potential supervisors search the Graduate School areas of study. Look for subjects in your area of interest and see who is teaching them.
- Browse the research groups and centres in the Graduate School that may reflect your area of interest.
- Work through the names of academic staff to read their areas of expertise.
